Your day runs in whatever order suits you. These are the fixed times to plan around, when the sun sets here through the year, how a day at Maroon Hill often flows, and the jobs worth giving a name.
Exclusive use of the estate for the whole celebration. The access either side of the day depends on your package year.
Most couples plan the day backwards from sunset, so portraits land in golden hour over Mount Maroon. Times are for the middle of each month. Queensland has no daylight saving, so they hold steady year to year.
The sun sets behind the ranges to the west, so the light can fade a little before the official time. Check the exact sunset for your date when you build your timeline.
Two examples drawn from real weddings at the estate, one in spring and one in winter. Swap, stretch or skip any part of them: plenty of couples dine outside, serve canapés instead of a sit-down meal, or hold the ceremony and reception on different days.
With the Vignette package, the same shape fits into a shorter evening: music off at 9:30pm and everyone off site by 10:00pm.
Rules of thumb from weddings here, to help you fill in your own.
The things that most often fall between the cracks. Write a name beside each one on your timeline: a vendor, your coordinator or a willing friend.
Our venue manager looks after the estate on the day: the umbrellas, the festoon lights, the firepit if you’ve added it, power for your vendors, and safe parking for buses.
A few things that make the day run on time.
Dinner on the lawn under festoon lights changes the timeline a little: tables, lighting and a wet-weather plan all need a place in it. Our outdoor weddings guide covers what we provide and who does what on the day.
Booked with us already? Share this page with your coordinator and vendors, and keep it beside your Terms & Conditions as you plan.
The best way to plan your timeline is to walk the estate yourself and see where the sun sets. Come for a private tour, or browse real weddings for inspiration.
