This policy explains what we collect when you use this website or enquire with us, why we collect it, and who else can see it.

Who we are

This policy covers maroonhillestate.com and enquiries made through it. It does not cover other websites we link to, such as our suppliers’ or accommodation providers’ own sites.

What you tell us

When you fill in our enquiry form, you give us:

All of it is voluntary, though we need an email address or phone number to be able to reply. We also keep the emails, calls and messages you send us, and notes from any tour you book.

What we collect automatically

Like most websites, ours measures how it is used:

ToolWhat it does
Google AnalyticsCounts visits and pages viewed, roughly where in the world visitors are, and which site or ad sent them here.
Google Tag ManagerLoads the tools on this list. It collects nothing on its own.
Meta (Facebook) pixelsTell us whether someone who saw one of our ads went on to enquire, and let us show ads to people who have visited the site.
Microsoft ClarityRecords browsing sessions. See the next section.

About the session recording

We use Microsoft Clarity to see how people move through this site — where they scroll, what they click, and where they get stuck. It creates a playback of the pages as you saw them, and heatmaps built from many visits together.

We use this to find things that are broken or confusing, not to identify individuals. What you type into form fields is masked by Clarity and is not captured in the recording. When you complete an enquiry we receive your answers through the form itself, not through the recording.

If you would rather not be recorded, see Your choices below.

Cookies and browser storage

The tools above set cookies, and our own site stores a small amount of data in your browser:

You can clear or block all of these in your browser settings. The site works without them.

Who else can see your information

We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to other venues or to suppliers unless you ask us to introduce you.

We do use outside services to run the business, and your information passes through them:

ServiceWhat it handles
TallyThe enquiry form itself
MakeMoves your enquiry from the form into our records, and alerts us to it
Google WorkspaceOur email, and the spreadsheet where enquiries are recorded
Studio NinjaBookings and contracts once a wedding is confirmed
CloudflareHosting and serving this website
Google, Meta, MicrosoftThe measurement tools described above

These providers operate in Australia and overseas, including in the United States and the European Union, so your information may be stored or processed outside Australia. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we may reasonably need them — to reply, to follow up, and to understand how couples find us. Once a wedding is booked, we keep the booking records for as long as we are required to for tax and legal purposes.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will, unless we are required to keep it.

Your choices

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting who can reach our systems and using services that encrypt data in transit. No website or system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

This site is for couples planning a wedding. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Questions or complaints

Please contact us first at [email protected] — most things are quickest to sort out directly. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site or the tools we use change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
